Speck Homes for Boys serves 36 adolescent males ages 13 to 18 years of age. These youth are placed with us through the Department of Human Services and Office of Juvenile Affairs. Many of these boys have experienced abuse and neglect during their life before coming into custody and come to placement traumatized from these experiences. Many are exposed to domestic violence, neglect, physical and sexual abuse.
Speck Homes provides comprehensive therapy to our youth. We have licensed Professional Behavioral Health Therapists on staff who provide individual, family and group therapy sessions. The Guides are National Certified Residential Child and Youth Professionals. We specialize in treatment in the area of trauma and sexual behavioral problems.
After our youth complete treatment, some return to their homes but many go into alternative placements; such as foster care, lower level group homes or adoption.
